About Ybell
Ybell
      Development

The development of the YBell has been a labor of love for inventor and personal trainer Aaron “Az” Laurence. Over the last 15 years Aaron has trained thousands of people on Australia’s famous Bondi Beach.

He was using traditional training tools, dumbbells, kettlebells and medicine balls, to create his own brand of High-Intensity Resistance Training (HIRT). With his member numbers growing it became impossible to keep incorporating multiple pieces of equipment into his sessions.

Partnering with Michael “Hop” Hoppe, a 30-year professional industrial designer, Az and Hop created the solution to the problem: the YBell. One piece of equipmentthat did everything he was already doing and more!

What are people saying about the YBell?

Cheryl Kiely

For me changing from conventional training equipment to YBells has been a game changer. No longer am I changing equipment to do a particular exercise as I can do everything using YBells. My 60-minute workout has gone to 45 minutes because I am not moving to different pieces of equipment. The range of exercises that can be done using one or two YBells are endless and they are small and compact. I feel my overall io and endurance has definitely improved!

DJ Scott

Y-Bells is probably the most innovative thing, in terms of equipment training to happen to the fitness industry in a very long time. Y-Bells delivers a full body workout, that can be done anywhere anytime and has now replaced the multiple pieces of training equipment we used to lug around including kettlebells, barbells. dumbbells and medicine balls.

Caroline Overington

YBells have changed the way I exercise and the way I look, but also the way I feel. They are comfortable and easy to use and yet you leave a session feeling like you’ve worked every muscle in your body, including some you never met before. The result for me has been lean muscle and incredible flexibility. Others in my group who use heavier weights want a different result and get it. That’s the YBell way: flexible, effective, heaps of fun.

Hands down, training with YBells is the best physical investment I’ve made in a long time. It is a one stop shop that utilizes dumbbell, kettlebell and med ball exercises, all in one piece of equipment. I’ve absolutely loved this revolutionary change in my training and although I’ve been active my whole life, I haven’t felt better, more confident and more head strong. I also love the simplicity of the YBell. I highly recommend YBells to anyone looking to better themselves.

Matthew Jager

I love the versatility of the YBells! At first, I thought I would miss the individual equipment, but not anymore. We can transition between med balls, kettle bells and dumbbells without leaving our stations. YBells are so easy to handle and the weight is more condensed. Because the programs blend all the previous disciplines, we get a solid, constant mix for body conditioning.

I have been using YBells since the first prototypes were developed in 2016. They are amazing and versatile pieces of exercise equipment which allow you to do a workout that would previously have involved 4 or more different sets of apparatus. They are great for strength training, weight loss or all-round fitness. I have lost over 15lbs since I started using them!

Sam Gowing

As a new inductee to the YBell experience, I can highly recommend them. They are so versatile and so perfect for doing a full body workout using one piece of equipment. There is no phaffing around setting up different dumb/bar/kettle bells for each exercise. It doesn’t take long to get familiar with what handle to use for each exercise. It’s a sleek design and the colors are great. I’m hooked.

YBells have revolutionized my training regime and I absolutely love them! They are ergonomically designed and feel so natural to use. They are incredibly versatile and can be used instead of dumbbells, medicine balls or kettle bells. The best thing about the YBell is the all-round body workout they offer. Since I have started using the YBell, my fitness and agility have really improved!

I'm not going to lie - I was a little skeptical when first introduced to YBells. I liked the familiar routine of dumbbells; kettle bells; med-balls and barbells. Motivated by Az's enthusiasm for the YBell, I gave them a go and soon appreciated that they gave me everything I got with the old equipment and more. Now YBells aren't just "part of my training" but they are how I train.

Amy Bonnette

I have been training with Az for years. We used to have weeks where we swapped between dumbbells, medicine balls and kettlebells. Some weeks I would really want to get to dumbbells, but I may have been traveling and so I would miss my favorite sessions. On the other hand, I would kind of dread kettlebells. Then came YBells, and the amount of different exercises you can do with them is phenomenal. I love how they are soft and don’t bruise your arms when doing kettlebell exercises!
